Megan goes on a road trip

Megan hit the road at just 2 1/2 weeks old for family friend Jim's wedding in Northern CA. She did pretty well with the 9 hour trip up there (it only took about 7 hours to get home) ... getting fussy only toward the end. She certainly got to know the back of the car very well!

She didn't interupt the wedding ceremony at all and much to the chagrin of Grandma Laura, slept through much of the reception. She even slept through a dance with mom and dad. Doesn't she look adorable in her cute little dress.

We made a trip to her great, great (yes, two greats!) aunt and uncle's house (Paul and Ellen) since they live very close to where we were for the wedding. They were thrilled that we were able to stop by and visit since it had been a long time.

Megan arrives!

After making us wait 8 long days, Megan arrived on March 26, 2008 at an early 5:10 am. She weighed in at 7 pounds even and was 18 inches long. We're now questioning that length because not even 3 weeks later she measured 20 1/2 long at the doctor's office. Maybe she just grew a lot in a few weeks!

She gave us a bit of a scare when she didn't start breathing right away, but she finally did and is doing great. Mike and Grandma Laura were there to welcome her into the world...Grandpa Don was sent off to the waiting room to sleep (he had a few meetings to attend that morning).

The second night in the hospital Megan wore her UCLA onsie for in honor of a March Madness game played that night. UCLA won that game!

On Friday, we left the hospital as a family of 3....the start of a whole new experience. Just getting her into the car seat was a challenge, but we figured it out.
